JAZZ Standards  Memphis SOUL  Motown  FUNK   Retro 80’s   90’s   00’s

Smokey Lane Trio walks the tightrope between amazing musicianship and 21st century technology. SLT combines a high-energy, soulful stage presence with a dizzying variety of different musical styles, and the results will satisfy generations of attentive listeners and celebration-minded dancers alike.

Three serious jazz players with music degrees, Guido Ritchie, Steve Hudelson, and Perry Israel, based SLT on their extensive backgrounds in music. All three are jazz players at heart, but they all grew up on a steady diet of rock, funk, and soul.  Their desire to incorporate all of these styles into one small, affordable band drove them to Guido’s home studio where they painstakingly arranged and sequenced the rhythm tracks for every song on their extensive list.

The live SLT experience combines the virtuosity of Steve on lead vocals and guitar, Guido on trumpet, keyboards, sequences, and vocals, and Perry Israel on rhythm and lead guitar. Combine the three front men with the hottest rhythm tracks in existence, and SLT has to be heard to be believed.

Close your eyes and listen: is that a seven or thirteen-piece band?

No, it’s The Smokey Lane Trio!

These cats have played with plenty of local heroes: the Groan Ups, Big John Miller, Mosaic, The Sugar Kings, Count Floyd, Charles Thomas, Tom Cox, Afrodesia, Brenda & Ellis, and many others. They’ve shared the stage with some international heavyweights, too: Clark Terry, Herbie Hancock, Tootie Heath, The Aquarium Rescue Unit, Ron Carter, Edger Winter, The Four Tops, and The Temptations, numerous national theatrical productions, and countless sit-in gigs and jam sessions.

The Smokey Lane Trio is by far one of our most requested bands we represent and is sure to bring a great time to your Wedding Ceremony or Reception, Corporate Event, Party or Event!
